Purpose

The purpose of Church school is to teach the Word of God to children of the church and community as a message from God to be believed and obeyed. This instruction should lead to commitment and upbuilding in the Christian faith in accordance to Christ's mandate to His Church.

1. Know God - Ephesians 3:4 -- This is done through Bible knowledge, stories, and facts (head knowledge), but also to encourage a deeper conviction of the heart.
2. Grow in God - Ephesians 3:17-19 --- This means increasing in maturity in faith and growing in effectiveness in Christian living.
3. Go for God - Ephesians 4:11-12 -- This means Christian service and witness to others within the Church and community.

Goals

Church School is an educational resource for Christian instruction in the church. It should provide:

1. Education in Biblical knowledge and in the doctrines, creeds and confessions of the church.
2. Opportunity for children and young people to be made aware of God and His plan of salvation through Jesus Christ so that they accept it personally.
3. Training in and opportunity to translate gratitude toward God into Christian living and service so that there is further development in becoming an independent, sensitive, obedient, and serving Christian in the church family and in the world.
4. Occasion for worship and fellowship within the Christian community.
