Weather Policy

FELLOWSHIP CHRISTIAN REFORMED CHURCH WEATHER POLICY
(revised 12/13/2010)

Tornado Watch or Tornado Warning

If in effect one hour before a worship service or meeting, the service or
meeting will be cancelled. The watch or warning must be lifted at least one
hour before the service or meeting in order for it to be held. (For example:
the watch or warning must be lifted by 4:30 pm for the 5:30pm evening
service to be held.)

Severe Thunderstorm Warning

If in effect one hour before a worship service or meeting, the service or
meeting will be cancelled. If warning is lifted at least one our before the
service or meeting, it will still be held.

Weather Watch (other than tornado)

Service or meeting will still be held. A person should be designated to
monitor for weather information during the service or meeting.

Winter Weather Warning/Advisory

Cancellation of a worship service or church activity will be discussed on a
case by case basis by the pastor, president of council and admin board
chair. They will then notify WOOD TV 8 prior to event and it will be
broadcast locally.

If a Tornado Watch is issued during a meeting or service,

the meeting or service will be concluded and those in attendance will be dismissed.

If a Tornado Warning is issued during a meeting or service,

all attendees will be directed to congregate in the inner areas of the church, away from
outside walls and windows (Fellowship room, inner classrooms off Fellowship room, kitchen, and hallways).

If other weather conditions,

lack of power, etc. require the cancellation
of a church service or meeting, based on the opinion of the Senior
Pastor/President of Council and Admin Board Chairperson, Elders and/or
Deacons will be called to call the people in their districts. For other events,
the leaders of the event will notify other leaders and participants.
If worship services are cancelled, the President of Council or Admin Chair
will notify WOOD, TV 8 of the cancellation and it will be broadcast locally.
